Organized Chaos
As a young boy, I could never quite sit still. Whether I was dancing to Michael Jackson music videos on MTV, or recording short films on my dad’s VHS camera with my brother, my very being was a whir of motion. What remained constant throughout was the vitality of artistic expression.
To this day, that same uncaged passion and childlike wonder is in the driver seat, guiding my journey. It’s my belief that the pursuit of new knowledge, experiences, and skills never has to come to an end.
For me, the catharsis of actualizing a creative vision from conception to final execution is therapeutic. Whether I’m the one mood boarding during pre-production, the person holding down the camera shutter on set, or holed up fine tuning edits on my MacBook deep into the early morning hours, I always fully lend myself to the project. Wearing various different hats during the process of creation has taught me what it means to play a role on a team, and has given me a live look at different types of leadership in action.
Amidst creative collaboration, it is inevitable that you will reach roadblocks. These impasses often define the outcome. Bottomline, in the pursuit of meaningful art, you must be an efficient problem solver.
In my 23 laps around the sun, I’ve become fluent in Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Lightroom.
At any given moment I’m probably playing dress up, banging on the drums, or making melodies with my best friends. I jam pack my physical and digital worlds with enough inspiration to keep me motivated and curious.
My deep appreciation for the natural world makes it so I need to periodically frolic to keep my sanity
Even today, I can’t quite sit still. Although jumping from one project to the next is the type of organized chaos I find fulfilling, juggling the moving pieces is a constant balancing act. My mom taught me that as long as I navigate this world as my authentic self, I’ll be just fine.
