SNEAKORHEAD X GRATEFUL DUCKS
In the true spirit of the pacific northwest Hippie infused town known as Eugene, OR, the University of Oregon and Nike unveiled a Grateful Dead collaboration to honor the legendary band in the fall of 2025.
The Grateful Dead Airmax’s capture their psychedelic essence, and we aimed to amplify it once again with a cinematic brand short for the Eugene based sneaker reseller, Sneakorhead.
The video is a long strange trip that pays homage to fan-favorite local spots such as the “O” at skinner’s butte and Autzen Stadium. We personified the sneakers themselves with magical properties that paints the town tie-dye.
I wrote, directed, and edited this project
Our goal was to dazzle viewers with high intensity chase scenes inspired by James Bond. We pushed ourselves to utilize unique camera angles with vibrant backgrounds.
I dreamed up a couple low risk, high reward VFX shots to reinforce the wizardry of the shoes. I’ve always thought that the air bubble on Air Max sneakers looked like a bay window, so we brought that idea to life & transported our chracters within the shoe. We spliced together a perfect loop at the end to insinuate that the journey is pre-determined and enhance multiple viewings
